Punch Clocks: One Of The Many Problems; Misaligned Time Stamps

I was at a PayrollHero beta clients office the other day chatting with them about the launch of PayrollHero in their Vancouver office and I went over to their current solution to check it out.  Currently they use a punch card system for all employees to clock in and out.  Not only were the cards all out of order with a couple of them behind someone else’s card, I grab one (see image) that was quite the mess.

Check out the first day on the card… what time did that employee leave for lunch? What time did he return? and what time did he leave at the end of the day?

In this situation, the payroll administrator will collect all of the cards at the end of the 2 week period and then go through them all.  Anything that is incorrect or missing forces the payroll admin to go speak to the person in question directly and ask them about the times.

Not only is this a huge waste of time for the payroll admin, but it takes the employee off of their current tasks and it forces them to try and remember what time they came and went so that they get paid accurately.

PayrollHero solves this problem perfectly.  A web based, mobile solution that ensures clocking in and out is done without error.  If you want to be a beta client, contact us.

Payroll Hero Accepted To TechStars’ JFDI in Singapore

Payroll Hero was accepted to be a part of the JFDI incubator program based in Singapore.  The program starts tomorrow but unfortunately we were unable to make all of the details work.  These types of programs put a small amount of cash into a business, provide education and mentoring in exchange for a small equity stake in the company.  JFDI has a solid line up, but Payroll Hero’s schedule and plans did not allow us to come to an arrangement that worked for both parties, but we are very honored to be chosen to participate.

Looks like JFDI has a solid intake and we wish all of the companies the best of luck.

Payroll Hero Has An Adjusted Logo, New Tagline

Payroll Hero logo has been adjusted, just a tad, to include a smile on our hero’s face.  We wanted to adjust it a bit to keep the logo instep with the goal of what we are doing at Payroll Hero.

We have quite a bit of “happiness” functionality built into the system (more details on that when we launch) but our logo and tagline did not show that.  The old tag line was “Super Human Capital Management”.  While we are in the human capital management space, we do more than just manage your human capital and felt that we needed to adjust the tagline.  So, we adjusted it to “Optimizing Work Productivity With Happiness”.  Here is the new logo and tagline:

Demo Of PayrollHero with Robert Scoble

I emailed Robert Scoble a few months ago about meeting up with him while we were in San Francisco to chat about our journey and what we are up to with PayrollHero.com.  His schedule is crazy and November 29th 2011 was the first spot he had available.  So today, Mike Stephenson and I drove over to the new Rackspace offices in downtown San Francisco to meet with Robert.

Their new offices are really new.  They were still setting things up when we got there and Robert was even attaching lights to the interview area that they dedicated to his program.

It was an interesting meeting, we chatted briefly before Robert turned the camera on, and then he went right into asking questions about PayrollHero and doing a live demo.  Mike did a great job of showcasing the system, talking about where we are going and the market that we are in.

It was a great experience and I look forward to seeing the video.  (sounds like it will be online in the next few days)

Note the signatures on the post – these are the people that he has interviewed thus far in this new location(L – R) Robert Scoble, Michael Stephenson, Stephen Jagger
