On August 21st every year, the Philippines celebrates the national non-work day called Ninoy Aquino Day to commemorate the assassination of former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. He as well as his wife Corazon Aquino who later became President of the Philippines are considered some of the highest heroes to the Democracy reform throughout the country.

The team at FamilyMart has been on a tear since opening up shop in the Philippines. They have opened 57 stores in about 8 months and plan to finish 2014 at around 110. Today was the launch and blessing of their Ayala Triangle store in Makati and the welcoming of their first customer to that store.
FamilyMart are big and bright convenience stores with a focus on quality. They are set for rapid expansion in the Philippines with a goal of 500 stores. Here are a few pictures from the opening / blessing today.
