As we continue to enhancing security across PayrollHero, we have created a new system that enforces a password policy on user’s password. Users are now required to use at least the following in their password:
one lowercase letter
one uppercase letter
one number
8 characters in total for the password length
We’re hoping this will help to avoid using simple passwords and secure everyone’s data.
This change will be effective November 3, 2014 and will affect all new user creations and password changes.

We also added Two Factor Authentication a few weeks ago. Read more here.

We had an amazing morning with the PayrollHero team feeding the poor at the Real LIFE Foundation community kitchen. Every Saturday, the Real LIFE Foundation conducts a feeding program for more than 100 malnourished children. These children range from 3 – 14 years of age and come from squatter communities in Pasig, Metro Manila.
The kids were fun, excited to play games and have a healthy meal. Some were very much under weight and obviously hungry but it was great to be able to help in a small way.
Exciting news! PayrollHero’s TeamClock Chrome now works on Android devices. You can see a quick video below that shows it in action. This is still a beta feature, but it is available to clients now. More Android functionality coming soon.
The American Payroll Association estimates that 1.5% – 10% of gross payroll is from time theft. That can be a huge number depending on the size of your business. Image you are using punch cards for your staff and you have a monthly payroll of P2,000,000. That means you could be losing anywhere from “P30,000 – P200,000”.
Exciting times over at PayrollHero. Mary Grace Cafes have chosen PayrollHero for their time, attendance, scheduling, HRIS, payroll and business intelligence needs as well as becoming a PayrollHero Lab location. Welcome Mary Grace!!

Collect customer feedback in real time and get the results in the palm of your hand. We are launching the newest tool to the TeamClock, Customer Feedback. Now within your TeamClock iOS your employees can not only clock in and out for work, view their schedules and give feedback to management via the Daily Pulse but customers can get involved too.
Introducing Customer Feedback within the kiosk mode of PayrollHero’s TeamClock. We have launched the beta version of the Customer Feedback tool within Krispy Kreme, a PayrollHero Lab and will continue to roll out the product across their stores in the Philippines.
Customer Feedback lets your customers quickly and easily “like” a specific employee or the whole team right through the TeamClock iOS app. And in turn, those “likes” show up in the Xray Insights app in real time. It’s time to rethink your punch clock!
Want to see it in action? I shot a quick video that shows the Customer Feedback tool in action and how the data shows up in real time within the Xray Insights app.
Below is what the kiosk homepage looks like within Customer Feedback. It can be designed for any retail or restaurant brand.
Did you notice the “Apply For A Job” button? More details on that soon…
Imagine a P1400 ($35USD) smartphone in the Philippines. Wouldn’t that be great? Well Mozilla is trying to make that happen. With their successful launch of a $33USD smartphone in India, Mozilla is looking at the Philippines to see if there is a market fit for their super low cost smartphone.

We believe this act of human collaboration across an open platform is essential to individual growth and our collective future.”
What is an Adventure Engineer?Noun: An unusual and exciting, experience or activity built around a flexible work schedule.
As part of our commitment to being ridiculously client focused we are bringing our Whistler team into Southeast Asia for a few weeks of learning, client meetings, ideation sessions and adventure. What is interesting is that one of our colleagues on the iOS team, Ian Keen’s girlfriend is joining him for the trip. It seems that Adventure Engineers hang out with like minded adventurers. Ian’s girlfriend Mindy is coming to Manila and is set to make the best use of her time. She has reached out to a few orphanages and is going to visit the kids, bring them toys, coloring books and the like. She has setup a GoFundMe page to raise $300 with all proceeds going to Manila kids in need. Check out her page if you want to support her in her adventure.
Hey Guys, I’ll be in Manila for a month and while I am there I am going to volunteer in an orphanage and do some work with street kids.
I will be buying some colouring books and crayons, basic food and clothing. Any additional funds will also go towards buying things like this.
I’ll be posting lots of photos of the places I go and the things I buy.
PS. We are hiring more adventures, from client services, to iOS, Android and Ruby engineers, get in touch with us if you have the chops to be an #AdventureEngineer.
